  • the construction & Georgian architecture of the Hampton Mansion,  a "palace in the wilderness."
  • the history of the heirs, their contributions to iron production, timbering, farming and shipping.
  • the post-Civil War transition from the family's enterprises to a refined stately home,  with numerous "out buildings," artifacts, gardens & small cemetery, all open to the community for enjoyment.

 Midday: Deli-style catered lunch & LaDew Topiary Garden

Enjoy a light deli-style lunch.
Hosted tour of the Manor House at LaDew.
Self-guided tour of the two dozen unique "Garden Rooms."
Admire the beautifully maintained and unusually crafted "topiaries."
From hounds in hot pursuit to a sailboat amid the water lilies..
