Carnival on Ice Celebrating 85 Years of the Hershey Figure Skating Club
Friday, November 1, 2019 6:00 p.m.

Giant Center

Remember Carnival In Venice? Ice Magic or Ice Galaxy? These were just a few of the many Ice Carnival themes presented by the Hershey Figure Skating Club since their inception in 1934, when Milton S. Hershey became the first honorary member. The Club has continued to present an array of programs and performances by both skating celebrities and locals. Stars like Sonja Henie, Richard Dwyer, and Roy Shipstad graced the ice alongside local Club members Neal Wood, Vivian Memmi, and hundreds of other skaters who have carried on this tradition for over eight decades.

The 23rd Annual Preservation Gala will revisit 85 years of the Hershey Figure Skating Club remembering stars and songs of the past. Collaboratively hosting the Gala, the Historical Society and the Skating Club will present a classic evening of on-ice history and unique artifact displays to accompany the history of HFSC, Follies, and the Capades in our town.

The annual Preservation Award presentation will take place during the evening.

HFSC will complete the evening with an ice show spotlighting selections from each decade of the Club's history. Highlights for Gala guests include themed food and beverage stations throughout the concourse, silent and live auctions including one-of-a-kind items, entertainment before the ice show, and select seating.
