Preserving our Past
Preservation is integral to our mission and fundamental to our community's rich heritage. The Society hosts a number of events and activities annually to demonstrate our commitment to the community's preservation efforts.
Each year we host Preservation Weekend, a celebration of our community and an opportunity to recall, revisit, and interpret important places, times, and events in our history. Over the course of the weekend, we recognize and honor, in particular, prominent architectural and historical buildings by the presentation of our Preservation Award at the Society's annual Preservation Dinner.
In addition to our signature Preservation Weekend, we host events and special members programs at local landmarks and iconic places that symbolize the unique heritage of our community.
We also host an annual preservation-focused program during May, National Historic Preservation Month.
By working to maintain an ever-expanding and vast catalog of the community's properties, called the Sites Project, we document and establish a permanent record of the physical structures throughout the Township.
